Safe Streets

The Stakes are High

Josh is passionate about making sure that residents of Greensburg are safe every day. Greensburg Fire and Police Departments are keystones to our community. They must be fully funded and supported by a partner who understands that protecting the people of Greensburg is the highest priority. Through the monthly Community Night Outs, we have increased the presence of first responders to ensure that the first experience that youth and residents have with them is a positive one. Please join us for a Community Night Out this year!

Community Investment

Attraction and Retention

The citizens of Greensburg need an advocate for the betterment of the city. By seeking investment from outside and within, we can grow into the future by increasing resident retention and attracting new neighbors. We should improve our options for entertainment. We should increase access to trails and outdoor sporting events. We should strengthen and support our existing community events and look to develop new community traditions. We should accomplish these by developing a strategic plan to increase the quality of life for residents. We should start by focusing on projects identified by the Stellar Community team. Through the award of $20,000,000 to the Accelerate Rural Indiana Region as part of the READI program, Greensburg's potential for quality-of-life projects is just beginning. In partnership with Decatur County, the community has led the way in talent attraction since 2021.

Infrastructure

For a Better Future

Infrastructure is a critical, visible asset as we seek new businesses and residents. We must continue to strategically manage our infrastructure. Community and business growth is reliant on sound, efficient systems. Through planning, we can continue to expand water, sewer, trash, broadband internet, and transportation by road, air and rail. This won’t happen overnight but our newly adopted 2022 comprehensive plan will allow us to move forward efficiently and effectively. We can continue to pursue local, state, and federal funding to complete projects. We are working with Indiana on Main Street, and Decatur County Commissioners on Park Road.

Communication

Connecting Ideas

As a student of communications, Josh understands the importance of openness and transparency. He believes that citizens engaged in their government are a vital part of governing. The actions of the government should be easily accessible for citizens, the City has added live streams to all city meetings, stood up social media channels, and worked to promote a more professional brand for the City and our partners.
